Wash Park Eco-Homes

This project was designed to match the form, mass, and scale of an historic neighborhood while achieving an energy efficiency 60% greater than current code based on the Home Energy Rating System (HERS).

Achieving a LEED for Homes, Gold Certification, sustainable components include R-27 walls with recycled content insulation, Low-E Argon-filled insulated windows, a heat recovery ventilator (HRV) system, in-floor radiant heat, recirculation pumps activated by motion sensors, programmable lighting systems, air purification system, and wheat-board cabinets.

A solar thermal hot water system will completely offset 100% of the domestic hot water load and assists with space heating while photovoltaic panels offset 37% of the electric consumption of each unit. Also, a comprehensive waste management plan was implemented throughout construction.
